CHCH Live @5:30 Thursday

Don't worry - just one segment. But it's a doozy. While I've hardly covered up my feelings about Sarah Palin and the Republican ticket in general (see posting below), I still thought courteous discourse was a possibility.

Not so much. Tune in to see Rachel Marsden press her point. You be the judge.

New reader here...

Actually I thought you were way overly defensive today. I'm an Obama supporter and about as moderate as they come in terms of Canadian politics. However, I found your verbal attacks on Rachel to be a bit uncalled for and over the top. You had a very good point that Palin should have been thankful for Obama's call to lay off the coverage of her daughter's pregnancy. But after that.. it seemed as if Marsden wasn't allowed to have her opinion or something. Just my two cents. Looking forward to seeing you on there again though and reading some of your columns.

I find it reprehensible that CH would stoop to put Marsden on the air. This woman is crazier than Britney Spears on acid. She is considered too whacked out to appear on Fox TV - a network that thinks Ann Coulter actually has a brain. If CH is determined the prove that they are indeed the bottom of the barrel, they have succeeded here because no other station this side of Timbuktu would give this shrill crackpot any air time. Leave her to her stalkings and her lyings and her belief that morons like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly have a fucking clue as to what is going on.

Although I'm a little surprised that McCain didn't consider her for VP.

Well, Marsden no longer writes for the Toronto Sun to the best of knowledge. Rachel, no matter what LIVE show she has been on over the past few years, leaves much too be desired. One opinion with her, she knows everything and it is right! Nothing else matters, just what she says. Never listens to others, just her way or the highway and some of the examples she comes up with to handle an argument? All over the map. Well, the people saw her in action Thursday night.

Lorraine, I thought you handled the whole situation, which got out of hand, quite nicely. Some ref Mark makes and him a sports buff.

Lorraine, watched the show twice just to make sure I hadn't imagined the first time around. Rachel called you whacked? Reminds me of a bumper sticker on my van "if I wanted your opinion I would give it to you". WOW...R. is right, Mark failed to put on the black and white striped shirt. While I don't think anyone is arguing Ms. Palin's right to a choice!! (regardless of the situation she did make choices)she is trying to say other women cannot do the same. Reminds me of another sticker "Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as long as it is mine".
I thought you did well at keeping some restraint! Next time meet her in the ring with those cute red leather boxing gloves!

And those cute shorts. Must not forget the flowery shorts from the early 70's. They make the gloves stand out. One goes with the other.

Hi Lorraine. I missed you on CH last night but caught it on their web site. Rachel Marsden (whoever the f%^k she is) is a moron. Maybe she should at least listen to Palin's speech prior to coming on the air as, what was she called, a "political analyst", I think not. You, as usual, were brilliant. Well read, informed - I could go on, but you get my drift. Keep up the great work.

Like Al, I had to watch twice to make sure I got it all.

Did anyone besides myself notice that Rachel avoided actually answering questions and just kept spouting like a whale?

Luckily (for her), you weren't in the same studio, youve had boxing lessons!

BTW, what was the last words you wanted to say at the end, but stopped yourself?

I'm so glad you asked.

RM was blathering on about how everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that free speech is for conservatives, not just liberals. Sarah Palin is entitled to her views.

I was trying to point out to her that Sarah Palin, in one of her first roles as Mayor of Buttfuzzle, Alaska, tried to have the librarian fired because she wouldn't pull a list of books that SP wanted censored. I thought it prudent of me to point out to Ms. Marsden that she was arguing for free speech for someone who is against it.

Was it just me or did MH look alarmingly like the proverbial deer in headlights for 95% of this segment... especially after Marsden attacked him for his opening and somewhat inane, "dented" comment? Seemed that this was one place he would definitely rather not have been that evening.

Lorraine can I get you to MapQuest Buttfuzzle for me and give the directions to DJ on Monday? I am sure he will be working somewhere in your area!
