"The Real Reason He Didn't Call" or something like that.

What's the point of self-help dating books if women are the only ones who read them? Here's a thought: why not just be yourself, and meet someone who is doing the same. Might get rid of all those strangers people seem to keep waking up next to...

Whereas men don't? You've been out of the picture too long if you really believe that. I guess that makes you lucky, but never take luck for granted. It can end so quickly and you're starting all over again.

A Dating Coach? How pathetic has society got? 10 minute misconduct for illegal use of hands. Let's get real here. A game misconduct because they didn't say the right things. One date, and it is to be magic, fireworks goes off? Not lucky, but sometimes it happens. Society has got to the point where we can't even go to the bathroom without some intervention from some "so called pro". We or most, are brain dead, so insecure..It seems to me to be nothing more than a make work project a Dating Coach. A sucker is born every minute...NEXT!!! If you have got to the point, to be that down on your luck, can't find a date, need a Dating Coach, then just go shoot yourself. People want perfection. Not going to happen folks. That is a once in lifetime chance and sometimes it never comes around BECAUSE of being just to picky. It could be looking you right straight in the eye.

Hey bitch is all the self-help books aimed constantly and exclusively at women. Dating isn't easy for either side - but do you really want to be sitting across from someone who is 'faking' all their interests, including possibly one in you because some self-proclaimed 'dating guru' told them to?

This whole shtick is about role-playing and being inauthentic with people. She tells women to pretend to like old cars or poker to get a guy. Probably so five years from now she can write a book called How To Divorce A Guy Who Only Wants to Go To Old Car Shows and Star Wars Conventions.

My, how we've overlooked the value of conversation (about something other than ourselves), small kindnesses and good hygiene.

Our family went to a movie called Earth last night (don't bother, by the way... Disney has simply repackaged the BBC series called Planet Earth, and not very well, at that.) In it they show the very complex mating rituals of the Birds of Paradise (already a very alluring name. How could you not be attracted to someone who's offering paradise?) One particular fellow picks himself a spot for the date to occur (we'll call it the Disco) and spends the whole day removing trash, and he actually takes a leaf and rubs it on all the branches in the area to clean them completely. Howie Mandell would feel at ease in this place. Then the young lady shows up and POOF!! this guys turns on the charm, virtually turns himself inside out and physically transforms into a completely different bird. Looking at him you'd have no idea this was the same bird. He jives, he struts, he plays the harmonica and does the polka. The girl stares, blinks, then flies away. He turns himself right-side-in, cleans up, and gets ready for the next date.

Simple, efficient, but once again, putting on a face that cannot possibly be kept up once the wedding's over and the chicks start hatching.

Mind you he seems to have a lot of fun performing. Sometimes getting ready is half the fun.

Unfortunately, a lot of posing goes on in date land on both sides. That's part of what makes it so frustrating. But men DO read the same kind of dumb articles. Men's Health, Esquire, Maxdumb er Maxim, you name it, they've all gotten as silly as Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire. I knew you didn't believe only women read them. That's what surprised me. Have a look at some of the men mags before the show...good ammunition there for Friday.
