I Be Needing Help...

I need someone who can do bathrooms. I need a new one put in the basement (small) and then my big one upstairs ripped out.

Know anyone in Burlington area? I'll tell you right now: I will not put up with crap ripped out and abandoned for months, I can get all my own fixtures after a consult, but other than that, I am a joy to work with.

Really. A joy.

Email me if you can help. Thanks.

This should be interesting!

All kidding aside, after how well Moen Canada have treated us these past few months, there are not enough compliments I can give this organization. They stand behind their products - and then some. Moen all the way, IMHO.

Thanks, Omemee. I'll be honest: I put in all Moen stuff ten years ago, and now I have bits and pieces of Moen stuff all over. I mean, literally: the cold water tap on one sink is lying beside it. The hot water tap on the other sink is just resting in the grooves. I've replaced the shower cartridge about 4 times.

They're great at giving you replacements; I'm just sick of needing replacement parts, which all started when they were only a few years old.

We'll see. I just want stuff to affix new taps TO.

My tip, stay away from Danze fixtures. They're junk. I had a faucet blow apart while I was in the shower. Can you imagine how handy that was? I'm being sprayed against the wall of my shower, trying to get out without falling and being scalded. Then running downstairs to the basement to shut off the water main. It was like a bad Kramer episode. If any of you work for Danze, sorry but you should take out life insurance, pal.

Just don't let anyone who offers to help you see any of the crabbyapplesauce face blogs or they will question how much of a JOY you are to work with.....Just sayin'...

I did a bathroom makeover a few years back. A makeover to the point of removing 100 year old floor joists and starting from scratch.

My Darling Bride will tell you its all about the showerhead. (ours is thiiiiiis big(holding hands a foot apart))

I will tell you if you are not doing a tile floor, put the floor down before you put anything else in. Its easier to cut holes in the flooring that to cut it around cabinets tubs and fixtures. And Ikea flooring is so hard it burnt out brand new bi-metal hole saws.

Contractor? Everyone I know is do it yourselfer. Sorry.

Hey Lorraine,
Look up the Burlington man who won the Handyman Superstar Challenge on HGTV a few years ago.
He did our basement in the spring which involved putting in a bathroom where there wasn't one before. It looks great.
I can't email you because I'm out of town and on a library computer but when I get home will send you an actual email and if you want, you can come and see it. And you can tell Ari I'm not a biker, just a lady with some of your rhubarb!

If it's not too late you could call Goran Krspikapa; Builder, Millwright, Folksinger. He can do anything. Machinist, Painter, Designer, Snowmobiler. Resides in anywhere. 416.873.4525
