Mini Whats?

It's raining. I'm inside. My hand is better, but not good enough to word outside. In the rain.

Let's talk stupid ads. Why not? I have a new favourite. It's for MiniWheats. I don't eat those, but I do buy them for Christer's girlfriend, Pam. They are currently running an ad I want to punch. You now that song, In The Army? That's the music they use, and they've put their own words to it. Commence humming that in your head now, if you like. Or out loud. Your choice.

All I can hear when the ad plays is 'in the earwig'. Seriously. I've seen the ad several times now, and I cannot figure out what they're saying, because surely a whole wheat cereal, even one with a gloppy dollop of sugar on it, doesn't want me singing 'in the earwig' as I consider whether I should purchase it or not. Well, I already admitted I buy it. But I bet if I tell Pammy that's what I hear, she'll stop eating it.

Wouldn't you?

Depending on your make of TV, you might be hearing "in the earwig" I have a Toshiba 36 incher that has two front facing speakers that are complete garbage. My previous tele (Memorex)has side facing speakers that are loaded with dirt. Very distorted sound as a result.

I'm ashamed to correct you, but it's The Village People and In the Navy. More camp than the best KOA.

Regardless, it is truly annoying... the tune has been ricocheting around my skull for hours now...

Don't know the ad. Don't like MiniWheats. I would prefer to mash up a nice bowl of cardboard. But remove all the flavour first.

But now, like Omeemeemeemee, I can't get that song out of my head. And the image of overweight men in spandex and tight, shiny leather.

Merci (as they say a little bit east of here) beaucoup.

Just saw the commercial. It sounds to me like they are singing "in Mini Wheats" (emphasis on the second vowel of mini... "In minEE wheats".

Good lord, now that that mystery is solved I can sleep tonight - haha!

I just saw the mini wheat commercial & I do sort of hear the earwig thing kind of with an unusual accent.

Annoying commercial for me: dumb car commercial where the dumb mother sings to the dumb kids over the dumb gps or whatever it is.

Sabam! That's my word.

Just saw the commercial...I agree..it is 'in minEE wheats' as stated above.
Still awful, no song will ever get me to buy them much less actually eat them. I only see my grandfather with his huge bowl and the one giant muffet or what ever it was called, in there covered with milk and sugar and it just looked like he was having a bale of hay for breakfast.

To last Anonymous: your comment came in last night when I was talking to Roz on the phone. I was laughing so hard I could barely read it. Our Dad used to make us those muffets....

Just saw the ad again. I really do apologize for bringing to your attention. All of you. It's really that bad.

You can't 'word' outside?

How about Open Office?

The next time you are all in the store, find a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, look at the top right side and corner of the box, and you will see one CTC square licking another.

I don't make the news...I just report it.

And Ozzie, lay off the KOA's I like them. They are the Swiss Chalet of camping.

i really think it was an add that was taped in a different langusge and the folks that are no singing the Village People "in the Navy" song have adistinct accent which translates to "in da meen wheat" or if you listen REALLY closely it maybe is "in da meenie wheat". Whatever it is annoying and I am never going to but "meeie wheats"!
